TD Ballpark located in Dunedin, Fl is home to the Toronto Blue Jays while they play their spring training games. Spectators can also watch the Dunedin Blue Jays Minor League games and several other community events. In early 2019 a $102 Million construction project started on the stadium. Included in the project is an increased seating capacity, boardwalks, and more.

The renovation comes after a new 25 year lease between the Blue Jays, Dunedin, Pinellas and Florida. The stadium opened and held its first game on Monday, Feb. 24th 2020. Unfortunately, not long after, the stadium had closed again, but this time not for a multi-million dollar remodel. The spread of Coronavirus resulted in sports events all around the world being canceled and the Blue Jays were not spared. At this time it’s not clear exactly when games will return to the TD Ballpark.

The renovated stadium upped its capacity by 3,000 people to 8,500. Adding new features such as a 360 boardwalk wrapping around the outfield for incredible views. They also added new bars, viewing areas, souvenir shop, kids zone, updated bathrooms, concessions and suites.

Still under construction for the Blue Jays is their Player Development Complex located towards the northern part of Dunedin. The 110,000 sqft Admin/Clubhouse building will include 6 fields, batting cages, gym, dining areas, pools, saunas, meeting rooms, and more.

History:

For over 40 years the Toronto Blue Jays have been coming to Dunedin for their ML Spring Training. The Blue Jays remain the only ML franchise that has never moved their spring training location. Over the 40 years the ballpark name has changed numerous times but the official name has stayed the same as Grant Field.
